How do I Apply?

We're delighted you want to join us.  The next step is to have a look at our course information to select a course, read the application requirements below, and then apply online.  You will need to fill in the online application form, send us an application deposit (see below) and, if you are a first-time applicant, send us a full CV and teacher reference (see below).

 

Eligibility

You must be aged 16 or over and working to a minimum standard of Grade 8+

Audition

We are rigorous in maintaining the high standard of our courses and audition all first-time applicants by full CV and teacher reference.  This must reach us (by email or post) within two weeks of your application form.  Please ask your teacher to email mail@vaco.net commenting in particular on your standard, ensemble experience, and suitablity to the repertoire of the course.  You will need to give us their email address and/or contact number on the application form and should ask them for their permission to do this.

Application Deposit

You will need to pay an application deposit of £50 within 10 working days of making your application.  If you are accepted on the course this will be deducted from the course fee and we will ask you for the balance of the course fee shortly before the course.  If you are not accepted on the course the application deposit will be refunded to you in full immediately. 

You can pay by BACS (please contact us for the sort code and account number) or cheque made payable to Vacation Chamber Orchestras and sent to us at 20 Mallorie Park Drive, Ripon, HG4 2QD.  Please write your name and the course you are applying for on the back of the cheque so we know to which application it refers!

Fees & Bursaries

The balance of the course fee must be paid by two weeks before the course and late payment fees of £10 per week may be charged if you fail to pay by this date or to notify us of how and when you intend to pay if after this date. 

Outstanding players in genuine financial need may apply for a bursary.  You will need to send us a bursary form in addition to your online application for the course.  For more information and the bursary form please see the Fees & Bursaries page.
